The World Wide Call to Forgive
In Honor of the 13th Anniversary of
The International Day of Forgiveness.

When many people come together joined by a singular choice, the power of this choice is increased exponentially.

The call to forgive will be sounded on August 2nd, 2009, as people the world over united in two synchronized guidedforgiveness meditations to forgive “the unforgivable” in themselves and others, making the choice to let go of the pain of their past and to set themselves free.

In conjunction with the 12th Annual International Day of Forgivness on August 3rd, 2008, Auriela McCarthy created two guided meditations for a global syncronized meditation. For a limited time, you can download the guided meditations by clicking on this link:

If you have read The Power of the Possible or listened to my radio shows, you know how much and how often I talk and write about forgiveness. I do it because I have come to understand that we are the only ones with the power to set ourselves free for our painful past.

We are the ones with the key to unlock that prison and it is up to us to use that key.

To do that we have to make a choice. The choice to forgive the past and to let go. To stop carrying the same old baggage for the rest of our lives. To finally set it down and to walk away.

I know this is easier said than done. I also know that in our world today so many do not believe in forgiveness, even though it is our only saving grace.

The day will come when this truth will become self-evident. But until then – I will continue to talk and to write about forgiveness, I will take you on meditations and I will share with you the stories of healing. My own stories, and stories of other people. For it is through seeing others that we can also be seen. And it is in choosing to forgive that we too can be forgiven.

And we can forgive ourselves. The most powerful and courageous choice we can make. A choice between living and not living, between being passionately alive or simply existing to survive the pain.

A vision came to me one day.   A vision that I followed. No change (personal or global) can happen without forgiveness happening first.

And yet, so many are still grappling with the very concept of forgiveness, believing it has to be deserved, earned, asked for in order to be received. There still is too much controversy, too much doubt around the entire concept.

And so, in collaboration with the Worldwide Forgiveness Alliance, I recorded two forgiveness meditations - to forgive yourself and to forgive another - for streaming and downloading,  (these meditations are yours to keep so you can also use them in the future, any time you are drawn to do them. I once received them as a gift and they have changed my life. It is my honor to pass them on to you.)

You can access the meditation download page here.

Think about what I am saying, take the time to decide what in yourself and what in another you are ready to forgive. And then – make the choice.
Choose to set yourself free and to live the life you have been destined to live.
